The Star ruby is a precious and rare gemstone, relished amongst collectors and jewellers alike. The ‘star’ is made up of the ruby’s internal inclusions and once held up to the light, gives the appearance of a six-pointed star. What's special about this ruby is the clarity of the star and how brightly it shines across the curved surface of the gemstone.
The Story
The Ruby Aurora is one of our favorite designs for a client, featuring a rare and valuable 40ct star ruby. This beautiful ring showcases a sharp, six-rayed star that shines gracefully across its curved surface. The client came to us to help her redesign the narrative for the gem so that she could fully appreciate its beauty.
The Craft
In partnership with local artisans, we carefully selected a tiger claw setting to highlight the grace of the star ruby. The ruby was then encased by a frame of carefully selected GIA graded natural diamonds, which enhances the multiple shades of red hues.
